The Key to Superior Parenting: Part 2

By: Ian D Wright

An Exceptional parent likes being involved with their children's lives. Our hectic lives are filled with business, jobs, and other work related things. Considering this, they shouldn't forget to find enough time with their children.

Organized parents choose to provide their children enough bonding time. A mother describes her thoughts about her two children. In the midst of her hectic schedule, she chose to to create breakfast for her children in the morning, and in the evening after her job, she makes the decision to have a discussion with them about their homework.

There are examples when her children's do their work at the same time, and she can see the expression in their faces to do it together. In this manner, she is actively including herself in her kids lives.

Parents need to include themselves in their child's activities. In this manner, they will demonstrate to the children that they are also interested in their activities. In classrooms, for example, school staff and instructors do have their family day activity every year.

They have many games and other activities where all the members of the family get included and work a unit. You may also have some story telling activities (not that typical nighttime stories) especially on your days off when you have no work.

Attempt to unburden yourself of extra or unimportant things that make your life much too pre-occupied of things with respect to your job. Be aware that making your children to do other things without you by their side doesn't help to increase their awareness and responsibility; instead, you are robbing them of the most valuable treasure: your undivided time and attention.

Parents need to take the chances of creating something for their children to show them their love. For instance, a parent could make food for their children for meals like breakfast, lunch or dinner. This may be a special time when a family get together and parents can initiate in sharing some events that happened on that day.

There is no parent without fault, yet there are wonderful events that we may share to our children. So, get involved in your kids lives, don't wait for horrible scenarios to happen that result in us lamenting: "It's too late; it is my fault".
