Based in St. Petersburg, Florida - the Devil rays are a fairly new professional baseball team that was established in 1998 and has been part of the American League East division. Some of the name the team is known as are: the D-Rays and the Rays. The team representing name "Rays" is said to be a beacon that radiates throughout Tampa and the state of Florida. The team ballpark is the Tropicana Field; that team owner is Stuart Stenberg, the manager is Joe Maddon and the general manager is Andrew Friedman.

Because of the fact that the team was recently established (1998) we cannot mention any title earned by the team, we can however mention that ever since 1998 the Rays have established several season records under the direct guidance of Larry Rothschild (Manager from 1998 until 2001), Hal McRae (manager from 2001 until 2002), Lou Piniella (manager from 2003 until 2005) and Joe Maddon (manager from 2006 until today). Setting records and gaining ground as well as fans has not been an easy task and will never be due to the fact that the Tampa Bay's primary rivals are two very tough teams which have quite a history behind them, those are the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.
